National Service Scheme in Collaboration with GhIS

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is looking forward to becoming an authority by the end of August pending the final signature from President Nana Akufo Addo.

This came to light when the President and Executive Committee members of Ghana Institution of Surveyors (GhIS) paid a courtesy call on the National Service Scheme (NSS) to engage in ways towards enhancing the professional development of surveying students across the country.

The meeting focused on two critical issues: the deployment of GhIS student members from recognized tertiary institutions into suitable training organizations and exploring potential collaborations between the institution and NSS.

The GhIS delegation expressed their enthusiasm on the possibility of placing student members in the surveying profession in training organizations that align with their educational goals and professional aspirations.

“Our aim is to ensure that students gain practical knowledge in the field of surveying, which is essential for their growth and future careers,” President of GhIS, Surv. Dr. Anthony Arko Adjei stated in his remarks.

“By working closely with the NSS, we believe we can facilitate placements that are not only beneficial for the students but also for the organizations that will host them,” he added.

Executive Director of the National Service Scheme Mr. Osei Assibey Antwi welcomed the initiative, recognizing the importance of practical training in shaping competent professionals.
