Surv. Barbara Twumasi-Boaky

Barbara was admitted as a Professional Member of GhIS in 2009 and elevated to Fellow in 2021. She was a Member of the Governing Council (GC) in the 2022/2023 Session, serving as a Member of the GC Finance Committee and the Treasurer for the Quantity Surveying Division (QSD). She has also been the Chairperson for the QS Division’s Finance and Sponsorship Committee.

Presently, she is a Member of the QSD Research and Development Sub-Committee. Barbara has been an active Member since 2009, serving on various Sub-Committees, including being Member Secretary to the QSD Model Documentation Sub-Committee (2009-2011), and also serving on the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Sub-Committee (2009-2011; 2017-2023). She has been a Member of the GhIS AGM & Surveyors Week Planning Committee since 2017 and was the Secretary to the 2011/2012 Surveyors Week Planning Committee.

Barbara has participated in several conferences and seminars organized by GhIS and other institutions. She has also been a participant in global conferences, workshops, and training programmes. During her Graduate degree at Harvard University, USA, she received a Fellowship for Emerging Leaders and worked briefly as a Project Management Analyst at the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG), Switzerland.

Presently, Barbara is a Principal Quantity Surveyor and Transport Economist at the Department of Urban Roads, under the Ministry of Roads and Highways.

Qualifications:
  • Master’s in Policy and Public Administration (Transportation Policy and Energy/Oil & Gas Concentrate) from Harvard University, USA
  • MSc in Transport Economics from The University of Leeds, United Kingdom
  • BSc Building Technology from KNUST, Ghana
