Surv. Dr. Anthony Arko-Adjei, a fellow of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors, is a highly trained professional surveyor with an impeccable surveying background, boasting over 26 years of experience in the field. He seamlessly blends academia, research, and professional practice, driven by a passion for transforming land administration through technology and process improvements. Currently, he serves as the President of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors (GhIS) for the 2024/2025 session.

Dr. Arko-Adjei holds a PhD in Land Administration from Delft University of Technology, Netherlands, as well as an MSc in Geo-Information Management for Cadastral Applications from ITC, Netherlands, and a BSc in Geodetic Engineering from the University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana. As a professional licensed surveyor, Dr. Arko-Adjei has worked as a private consultant in land surveying, land administration, and GIS. His expertise spans cadastral surveying, geospatial data management, and land policy development. Notably, he has consulted for esteemed organizations, including the World Bank, USAID, UN-Habitat, Government of Ghana, private and public agencies, NGOs, individuals, and local communities.

Within the GhIS, Surv. Dr. Arko-Adjei has been an active contributor, serving in various capacities, including the Continuous Professional Development Committee, Membership Committee, Educational Committee, Welfare Committee, Editorial Board, Strategic Planning Committee, and Constitutional Review Committee. He has served on the Governing Council of the Institution since 2014, instrumental in shaping the institution's strategic direction and promoting the interests of surveying professionals in Ghana.

As a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Geomatic Engineering at KNUST, Dr. Arko-Adjei teaches and conducts research in geomatics, land administration, and geo-information management. His research focuses on innovative solutions for land tenure security, spatial data infrastructure development, and geospatial technology applications in Ghana. He has held several academic positions within the university and served on over 30 statutory and non-statutory committees and boards of KNUST. Throughout his career, Dr. Arko-Adjei has demonstrated a strong commitment to professional excellence, education, and community service. As President of the GhIS, he continues to advocate for the advancement of the surveying profession in Ghana, promoting collaboration, innovation, and best practices among surveyors.
