Kofi Obeng-Ayirebi holds MSc Construction Management, Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing, Management, Quantity Surveying, and Arbitration after graduating with BSc (Hons) Building Technology from KNUST in 1989.

In his quest to acquire more knowledge and diversify into other professional and knowledge areas, he has been trained as a Mediator from the Judicial Training School of Ghana in 2012, a Certificate in Financial Securities from the Ghana Stock Exchange, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (IPMA-UK), a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing (CIM-UK), a Certificate in Project Management (Prince2), a Diploma in Arbitration and Accredited Diploma in Mediation (RICS)-UK.

He is a Professional Quantity Surveyor, a Chartered Marketer, Arbitrator, Expert Witness, Value for Money, Project Audit and Forensic Practitioner, Project Management, and Procurement Practitioner in the Built Environment with many years’ experiences. From the vast knowledge acquired through academic and practical field training, Kofi was motivated to establish Oakbuild Consult Limited (Training Firm Registered and Recognized by Ghana Institution of Surveyors), a Quantity Surveying firm of which he is the Managing Director.

This knowledge has been the vehicle used for the development, cost management, construction, and completion of many projects, preparation of strategic marketing plans, resolution of many disputes using Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms (ADR), and managed some reputable projects in Ghana.

Over the years, Kofi has been involved in the following activities indicated below:

  • Managing Director of Oakbuild Consult Limited (A private practice Consultancy Organization registered in Ghana that offer services in General Quantity Surveying Services, Construction Project Management, Marketing Management, Project Audit, Value for Money, ADR, Procurement Management, etc.)
  • Senior Vice President of the Ghana Institution of Surveyor (GhIS)
  • Mediator and Arbitrator for several cases referred to him from the Court in Ghana after gaining the necessary skills in mediation from the Judicial Training school in Ghana, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators – UK from 2012 to 2018. He is an Acre Mediator from the RICS. He has facilitated many workshops and training in alternative dispute resolution for professional trainees of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors.
  • African Director for the International Cost Engineering Council (ICEC) from 2016 - 2020. Elected as the Global Vice-Chair (Technical) for ICEC from 2020 – 2022. Global Vice Chair (Administration) for ICEC from 2022 – 2024. Currently the Global Senior Vice Chair for ICEC from 2024 – 2026.
  • Team Leader for the Ghana Institution of Surveyors (GhIS) members that supported the construction and completion of the First Private Sector led Fully equipped 100 Bed Ghana Infectious Disease Centre (GIDC) at Ga East – Kwabenya in 100 Days by providing all the Quantity Surveying, Land Surveying and Valuation and Estate Surveying services free of Professional Charges that resulted in the effective cost management achieved on the project during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic in Ghana.
  • Provided advocacy for GhIS on the need for Government to use Local Surveying Professionals for Value for Money, Construction Project Forensic, Construction Project Audit and Arbitration services whenever they are required.
  • Supported GhIS to have a working memorandum with Public Procurement Authority of Ghana (PPAG) for cooperation in the delivery of works procurement for Professionals in Ghana.
  • Facilitator for Training Programmes with PPA
  • Examiner for the Quantity Surveying and Valuation and Estate Surveying Division of Ghana Institution of Surveyors (GhIS).
  • Team Leader for GhIS Team for the training of some Lands Commission Staff in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms in Accra.
  • Member, National Estate and Development Committee of the Church of Pentecost.
